Q1: Are you a native Delawarean?

A: No. I've lived in Delaware twice. As a child I spent a few years in Claymont. Then as an adult I spent about a dozen years in Newark. I am currently a resident of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

Q2: Why native Delawareans?

A: That's a two part question. I'm fascinated by history, especially personal history, and where someone grew up I feel plays a big role in the development of the person they become. It's interesting to me how the second smallest state in the country has produced quite a few ballplayers, many of which have had lengthy professional careers.
The second part of the question is how "native" is defined. I use the birthplace as indicated in the official biographical records. It may not be the most accurate way in that someone like Hans Lobert is included even though he spent very little of his life in the First State and someone like Dwayne Henry is not included on this site because he was born in Elkton, Maryland but spent a lot of his life in Delaware. But you have to draw a line or else you end up with so many criteria it's like making a list of places where George Washington slept.

Q3: Why isn't [enter favorite player who seems to be missing here] on your site?

A: See Question 2.

Q4: How do I advertise on your site?

A: Hey, thanks for asking. I know that with the awesome design and the fantastic content, you'd expect there to be as many hits on this site as ESPN.com. Not true. Your advertising dollar is best spent elsewhere. Plus, there's enough advertising in the world.

Q5: You're obviously smart, sexy and friendly as hell. How can I get in touch with you?

A: There's a contact button on the main page or you can leave a comment on the blog. I appreciate my niche audience and try to respond to any communications I receive.

Q6: There's a lot of stuff missing on a lot of the player pages.

A: That's not a question. But you're right. I have plans for how I want to fill out the site and this site is juggled along with other responsibilites. But if it's really important to you, ask, and hopefully you shall receive.

Q7: How often do you update the site?

A: I try to update it on a weekly basis during the season, usually Saturday night or Sunday morning. If something exciting or interesting happens, I'll add it to the site before then. In the offseason, whenever I feel like it.

Q8: I have a question that isn't answered here. What is this, Verizon?

A: Good one. See Question 5.

Q9: Who do you think is the greatest native Delawarean baseball player ever?

A: Based on major league accomplishments, I have to go with John "Sadie" McMahon. He was a really good pitcher for the Baltimore teams of the 1890's. A case could also be made for Delino DeShields. He's definitely the best non-pitcher. So many Delawareans have had great professional careers.
