Biography

Thirty-sixth native Delawarean to play in the major leagues.

Best Game

May 20, 1989 - Minnesota Twins at Texas Rangers.
Batting cleanup and playing first base against the fireballer Bobby Witt, Randy Bush led the Twins
in a slugfest. In the first inning, Bush singled in Al Newman to put the Twins up 1-0. In the third
inning, Bush ledoff with a walk but was stranded on the bases. He struck out in the fifth and
plated Newman again in the seventh with a sacrifice fly off reliever Craig McMurtry. With the game
already 8-3 in favor of the Twins, the floodgates opened. Bush hit a pair of three-run home runs.
In the eighth he knocked one out off Brad Arnsberg to bring the score to 11-3. By the ninth inning
things were so bad for the Rangers that infielder Jeff Kunkel was brought in to finish out the
game. Bush hit his second homer off of him and the Twins finally triumphed 19-3. Bush's eight runs
batted in are a native Delawarean record.
