Best Game

August 9, 1932 - Pittsburgh Pirates at Boston Braves.
Pitching for the Boston Braves, Huck Betts threw a four-hit shutout to defeat the Pittsburgh Pirates
4-0. This was the third straight time the Braves beat the Pirates and the loss marked the tenth
consecutive for the league-leading Pirates who would soon fall out of first-place and finish four
games behind the Chicago Cubs. Betts only walked one batter and struck out one, never allowing a
runner to reach third base. Shortstop Billy Urbanski helped Betts by starting a double play,
providing two hits and stealing home.
